COVID-19 has turned children’s lives upside down. Staying at home can be lonely and stressful; kids miss school, their friends, their after-school activities, and their daily routines. It’s easy to see why this global pandemic is likely to create strong emotions in kids of all ages.

During tough times like this, reading aloud to kids is a powerful way to help them understand and process how they feel. Reading a carefully chosen book can spark helpful conversations about emotions, and encourage kids to feel comfortable expressing their feelings.

Reading aloud is sure-fire way to help kids understand that they are not alone, and that other people may feel the same way they do.

Here is a collection of links to books written to help children understand and cope with COVID-19 and the emotionally charged changes it brought into their lives.
